Nestly: So I got inspired to do this one night from this anime I watch called Blood+. A character named Hagi has this cool monstrous looking hand. Of course my hands are short and my fingers are stubby so this isn't really a fanart or anything.
I just thought it would be fun to try another photo-manipulation, but this was a TON harder then "The Reason Behind Art Block"
I had a lot of fun experimenting with this though.
Nestly's Camera Adventuare Story: I had to take the picture myself since no one else was around, and that was NOT easy, considering I had to keep taping my camera to a cabinet, set the timer, run water under the sink and pose it below the camera before the timer went off and the water ran all out of my hands. Holy crap.
So then there was the blood effect, which was another long journey. I searched the web for hours trying to find a good 'blood drops in water' reference, but I didn't find anything good enough, so I spent $4 on red food coloring and took like a bajillion pictures of that dropping into a bowl of water. ...Now all of my fingertips are stained red... xD
The blood still doesn't look entirely real because the food coloring reacted differently then blood would. It just went FWOOO as soon as it touched the water and was nearly impossible to snap a shot in time with my slow shutter camera. But this was the best I could get it from the photos I took. I'm happy with it. :3
So I hope you enjoy the concept and overall piece. ^^
Feel free to point out anything you think I could patch up. :3 Just explain how you think I could fix it.

Seriously. The food coloring really really look convincing to be blood. And, ontop of that, this is just gorgious. I love the elongated fingers. That really looks fantastic. I'm so jealious XD
The black+white with the red also really add a great effect... just beautiful. Bravo~

Blood+ is a really awesome anime. I'm just about ready to watch it on Saturday like you do. Just a couple more episodes left. I think I'll be able to watch the new episode this Saturday! Whoo-hoo! And I even got Little-D into Blood+ and he was all like "Neh, I don't want to. It looks stupid." about it. :3
Anyway this is a really awesome concept, Nestly. This is going to get a looot of +fav's thanks to its reference to Blood+. I like the darkness of it and the blood actually came out really cool in the water so you did a great job. Hahaha! I can only imagine how much of a pain in the ass this must have been to do. I am so sorry. Wish I was there to lend you a helping hand when you needed it. <XD
Umm... There is something that bothers me about this though… Did you use a reference of Hagi's chiropteran hand? 'Cause honestly.. (Oh my gosh this is going to sound so mean, please forgive me!) The fingers look like carrots. They're too crooked. :< *waits to get yelled at by someone else who reads this*
